Thank you for your interest in our SELECT study! The purpose of this research study is to study the effects of muscle nerve activity on blood vessel function in adults with hypertension.
This study requires 6-7 in person visits over a 6-7 week time period. The visits range from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours. We will do non-invasive vascular measurements, a VO2 Max bike stress test, IV and blood draws, and you will wear a 24 hour ambulatory blood pressure monitor. You will be randomized to take Clonidine, Hydrochlorothyazide, or placebo for 28 days.
